Course page layout: width, banner image and page builders

Control how each course's public page looks, or hand the whole page to your theme or page builder.

Every course has a public page. It’s what students see before they start: the description, the enroll button and the curriculum. The Course page section of Settings, then Catalog controls how it looks. None of these settings touch the course player itself.

Readable width

Keep the course page to a readable width is on by default, with a Maximum width of 900 px. Everything the plugin prints sits in a centered column, so a full-width theme doesn’t stretch the page edge to edge. Themes that already box their content aren’t affected.

Show the featured image at the top of the course page comes with a Featured image height cap, 400 px by default (0 means no cap). A taller photo is cropped to a banner instead of filling the screen. Turn the image off here if your theme or layout already shows one.

Who lays out the course page

By default, the plugin does: the featured image, description, enroll button, progress bar and curriculum, in that order.

Choose My theme or page builder and the plugin prints only the description. You place the rest wherever your layout wants it, using three small shortcodes:

  • [nonprofit_lms_enroll_button]
  • [nonprofit_lms_course_progress]
  • [nonprofit_lms_course_curriculum]

Use this when you want Beaver Builder, Elementor or the block editor to own the whole page. Two things to know: the intro video isn’t printed in this mode (use your builder’s video module), and enrollment, the Start and Continue button, and the course player work exactly the same either way.

Just one course

You can hand over a single course while the rest keep the plugin’s layout. Open that course in the course builder and turn on Custom layout: my theme or page builder owns this course’s page (under Course Info, then Page layout, or in the Settings panel). Handy for a flagship course with its own designed page.
