Privacy consent and the linked pages

Add a required consent checkbox to registration, linked to your privacy policy and terms.

Under Settings, then Consent you can turn on registration consent and write the notice students agree to. When it’s on, the checkbox is required on both registration forms, and each student’s agreement is recorded with their account.

Linking your privacy policy and terms

The tab’s Linked pages section has two pickers: Privacy Policy page (filled in from Settings, then Privacy, if you’ve set one there) and Terms of Use page.

Write {privacy_policy} and {terms} in the notice wherever the links belong. Each one becomes a link to its page, using the page’s title as the link text. The notice that ships with the plugin already uses both, so on a new site, choosing the two pages is all it takes.

If the notice uses a placeholder but no page is chosen for it, the placeholder is simply left out. You never get a link to nowhere, and the tab tells you so.

Writing your own notice

You can write the notice any way you like, with or without the placeholders, and plain HTML links work too. The plugin never rewrites a notice you’ve customized.

Choosing the two pages needs an Administrator. Anyone who manages the LMS can edit the notice text.
