Pro and the free plugin are updated together. When one is too far ahead of the other, Pro switches itself off and shows a notice saying so.

Nothing is lost either way. Your courses, students and settings are untouched while Pro is switched off. In future, update both plugins at the same time.
Pro updates aren’t showing up
Updates come through your Pro license. Check that your license is active on that site and that your subscription hasn’t lapsed. See Pro plans and pricing.
