If your Register page says “Registration is currently not available”, WordPress registration is switched off.
Go to Settings, then General and tick Anyone can register. Then reload your Register page.
A student says the form won’t take their date? All three parts (month, day and year) have to be chosen, and the date has to be a real one. The message names which part is missing.
