A lesson can carry a layout you built in Beaver Builder, so you’re not limited to what the plain editor can do.
- Build the layout in Beaver Builder.
- Save it as a saved row, module or template. Beaver Builder gives you a shortcode for it.
- Paste that shortcode into the lesson’s content where you want the layout to appear.
Students see it in the course player, styled and working. Columns, accordions, tabs and the rest behave the way they do anywhere else on your site.
Two things to know
- The layout goes inside the lesson’s content. You’re not editing the lesson itself in Beaver Builder, because lessons aren’t WordPress pages.
- Beaver Builder is the builder that works inside lessons today. Course pages work with any builder, but lesson layouts are Beaver Builder only. A web developer can add another builder without changing the player (see Developer notes: hooks and filters).
If the layout shows as a shortcode or looks unstyled
Make sure you saved the layout in Beaver Builder first and pasted the shortcode it gave you, and that Beaver Builder is active on the site.
