How the curriculum works: topics and content

Courses are made of topics, and each topic holds lessons, quizzes, assignments and surveys that open in order.

A course is organized into topics, which are its sections. Each topic holds any mix of four content types:

  • Lessons: the core teaching unit, with rich text and optionally a video
  • Quizzes: graded knowledge checks
  • Assignments: students hand in a file, a written response, or both
  • Surveys: ungraded feedback forms

Use Add Topic to create sections, then add content inside them. Drag items to reorder.

Students move through the curriculum in order. Each item opens once the one before it is complete, and the order is enforced on the server, not just hidden in the browser.
